You can help steer SWAZ’s direction in one of a number of ways:
As a SWAZ member you could be eligible to join one of a number of sub-committees or special interest groups responsible for developing policy and determining SWAZ’s strategic direction or progress.
- You can stand for election to the SWAZ Executive Committee, the main decision making body of the Association, if you have been a SWAZ member for three years.
- You can join influence policy and ethical practice issues by joining SWAZ’s sub-committees on 1. Continuous Professional Development & Conferences, 2. Resource Mobilization, 3. Membership Recruitment, 4. Advocacy.

Speak to the Media
SWAZ is always being approached by journalists for comment on topical subjects and needs members prepared to either offer their expertise to help inform the Association’s position on key issues, OR who are prepared to speak to the media directly, to offer the social worker viewpoint – anonymously or on the record.
